Linda Chavers is Assistant Professor of Instruction in Intellectual Heritage. She received the Ph.D. from Harvard University in African American Studies in 2013. Her research interests include southern literature, postmodernism, and fiction. She is a writer, teacher, and scholar of 20th-century American and African American literature with specializations in race and visual culture. Her work has appeared in The Rumpus, The Offing, Elle, The Guardian, Gawker, Dame, Le Plus de L'Obs, The Independent, and Scenarios. Her chapbook This Body is Never Yours is forthcoming from Gazing Grain Press this spring and her work on anxieties and the racial imagination is forthcoming by Peter Lang Publishing in 2018.
